Wellness: The relationships between health, regular physical activity, fitness, proper nutrition and optimal body function. Wellness is not merely the absence of disease but striving for a state of perfect metabolic, structural, physiologic, mental and physical balance.

Whiplash: A term which is variously described in the medical literature as an injury to the cervical spine and/or supporting soft tissues resulting from motor vehicle trauma: the term, as most often used, excludes fractures or dislocations of vertebrae. Some authors limit the term to rear impact crash vectors, while others consider it to include an injury from any type of crash scenario. The most correct and appropriate terminology to describe this relationship is Cervical Acceleration/Deceleration Syndrome (CAD). The most descriptive and widely accepted classification system of CAD injury was set forth by Dr. Art Croft of The Spine Research Institute of San Diego. www.srisd.com
